ESS TTN-30 100/5 A current transformer
⚡ The ESS TTN-30 100/5 A is a measuring current transformer used to connect electricity meters, ammeters and monitoring equipment to circuits carrying currents up to 100 A.
It converts the primary current into a standard 5 A secondary measuring current.
🔢 Meaning of 100/5 A
- 100 A — rated primary current;
- 5 A — rated secondary current;
- transformation ratio — 20:1.
Meter readings must be multiplied by 20 when the ratio is not programmed into the meter or monitoring system.
🎯 Accuracy and burden
- accuracy class — 0.5;
- rated burden — 5 VA;
- frequency — 50 Hz.
🏭 Applications
- three-phase electricity meters with 5 A inputs;
- electrical switchboards;
- industrial installations;
- AMR systems;
- ammeters;
- measuring relays;
- commercial and technical energy metering.
🔌 Three-phase metering
A three-phase metering installation normally requires three current transformers, one for each phase.
🛡️ Critical safety rule
Never open the S1–S2 secondary circuit while current is flowing through the primary conductor.
Before disconnecting a meter or measuring instrument, the secondary circuit must be short-circuited through a suitable test terminal block.
✅ Key advantages
- converts 100 A to a standard 5 A output;
- 20:1 transformation ratio;
- accuracy class 0.5;
- 5 VA rated burden;
- 50 Hz operation;
- compatible with 5 A electricity meters;
- compact panel installation;
- ESS Electrical Solutions brand.
⚠️ Important: confirm whether the supplied unit is class 0.5 or 0.5S, together with its aperture size, busbar design and verification documents.
