ESS TSD-15 kVA wall-mounted servo voltage stabilizer
⚡ The ESS TSD-15 kVA is a single-phase electromechanical voltage stabilizer designed to protect residential, office and commercial equipment when the mains supply is unstable.
The model accepts an input voltage from 100 to 250 V and automatically adjusts it to a level suitable for connected equipment. This is particularly useful in areas where voltage drops significantly during peak hours or fluctuates as the network load changes.
⚙️ How servo voltage regulation works
The stabilizer contains a variable autotransformer and a servo drive. Its electronic controller continuously monitors the mains voltage. When the voltage deviates from the target level, a motor moves the current-collecting contact along the transformer winding and adjusts the output smoothly.
This principle is known as servo or electromechanical regulation. Unlike relay stabilizers, it regulates voltage smoothly rather than switching between fixed steps.
🏠 Wall-mounted design
The enclosure is intended for wall installation. This saves floor space and helps protect the unit against accidental impact, moisture during cleaning and access by children.
The stabilizer must be mounted on a solid wall capable of supporting its weight, with sufficient clearance around the enclosure for ventilation and servicing.
🔌 Suitable connected equipment
- refrigerators and freezers;
- televisions and audio equipment;
- computers, servers and office equipment;
- gas and electric boilers;
- lighting systems;
- retail equipment;
- air conditioners where starting current is considered;
- pumps after calculating starting power;
- multiple household appliances connected through a distribution board.
✅ Key advantages
- Wide 100–250 V input range;
- 15 kVA rated capacity;
- single-phase operation for a 220 V network;
- smooth servo-driven regulation;
- wall-mounted installation;
- protection of connected equipment during unstable voltage;
- suitable for centralised connection of several appliances;
- applicable to homes, offices, shops and workshops;
- automatic operation without constant user intervention.
🛡️ Why voltage stabilisation matters
Very low voltage may cause compressors and electric motors to start poorly, draw increased current and overheat. Excessive voltage places additional stress on electronic components, power supplies and insulation.
The stabilizer monitors the mains supply and helps maintain a safer voltage level for connected equipment.
📐 Selecting the correct capacity
15 kVA is apparent electrical power. It is not always equal to 15 kW of active load. The permissible active power depends on the power factor of the connected equipment.
When the input voltage is very low, the available output capacity may also decrease. The stabilizer should therefore not be operated continuously at its maximum rating.
- allow at least 20–30% reserve for ordinary household and electronic loads;
- consider the starting current of air conditioners, refrigerators and pumps;
- calculate multiple electric motors separately;
- add the loads that may operate simultaneously;
- check both power in kilowatts and input current in amperes.
⚠️ Technology limitations
A servo stabilizer provides smooth regulation but normally responds more slowly than a relay or electronic stabilizer. Its suitability should therefore be assessed where voltage changes are extremely rapid and frequent.
The design includes a moving current-collecting contact that may require periodic preventive maintenance. The unit should be protected from construction dust, high humidity and contamination.
🔧 Installation requirements
- installation must be performed by a qualified electrician;
- the cable and circuit breaker must be selected for the calculated current;
- protective grounding is mandatory;
- an input circuit breaker should be installed before the stabilizer;
- a safe bypass arrangement is recommended for servicing;
- ventilation openings must remain unobstructed;
- do not install near water or heat sources;
- secure the enclosure firmly to a structurally suitable wall.
