UZS 642 billion for solar power. How can your own panels earn a subsidy?

A solar roof can reduce your electricity bill and earn a subsidy. The payment depends on how much energy you export to the grid and import back during the month. Here is a practical example.

UZS 642 billion for solar power. How can your own panels earn a subsidy?
January–September 2026 · total programme payments

Payments are happening. What is new?

Spot reported on 30 October, citing the Tax Committee, that 70 700 citizens received UZS 642.1 billion through Solar Home in January–September 2026. September accounted for UZS 99.99 billion. These are combined payments to participants, not promised earnings for an individual household.

What earns UZS 1 000?

The programme for households with solar installations totalling up to 50 kW has operated since 1 April 2023. The monthly subsidy is UZS 1 000 × the positive difference between grid exports and grid imports. A zero or negative difference means no subsidy for that month.

Export 500 kWh and import 200. What do you get?

The positive balance is 300 kWh, giving a calculated subsidy of UZS 300 000. Solar energy used directly at home is separate: it reduces grid purchases. If you import 500 kWh and export 200 instead, there is no subsidy; the billable quantity is the 300 kWh difference. Check electricity settlement and the subsidy calculation separately.

How to start the connection process

Before buying equipment, ask your district electricity network company to confirm the connection conditions, metering arrangement and paperwork for your property. Ask the installer for monthly generation estimates, protection design, equipment list and an all-in quotation. After installation and formal connection, check that both energy directions and the correct customer account appear in the system. Do not export through an unauthorised connection.

Which meter is needed?

You need separate measurement of energy imported from / exported to the grid. A screen, modem or a “smart” label alone is not enough. Agree the model, configuration, phase arrangement and billing settings with the network company before ordering. Schetchik.uz has a selection of bidirectional meters; choose a suitable model against your connection requirements.

How to transfer the subsidy to your card

In Soliq → Cashback and benefits → Solar Home / Quyoshli xonadon → Transfer to card. Check that the property is registered and review the credited amount. If the service or data is missing, ask the Tax Committee on 1198; if energy readings differ, reconcile them with the network company first. Do not post SMS codes or bank card details in comments.

How long before the investment pays back?

Add the electricity-bill saving and the subsidy, then subtract maintenance. Include panels, inverter, mounting, protection, installation and connection paperwork in the investment. Summer output is not a year-round promise: request monthly estimates covering shading, roof orientation and losses. The calculator below models your inputs; it does not guarantee earnings or a payback date.

What could your panels return?

Enter one month of data. The default values are an illustration, not an installation forecast.

Credited net surplus, kWh—
Calculated subsidy, UZS—
Electricity-bill saving, UZS—
Monthly benefit after maintenance, UZS—
Simple scenario payback, years—

Subsidy = max(exports − imports, 0) × 1 000. Saving = bill without solar − bill with solar. Generation and direct consumption check the energy balance; neither is multiplied by the subsidy rate.

Payback assumes this same month repeats 12 times. It excludes seasonality, finance, degradation and future inverter replacement. Use monthly estimates for a purchase decision. The solar bill must already include energy netting, so that benefit is not counted again.

Frequently asked questions

Is every kWh generated subsidised?

No. The subsidy uses the positive monthly difference between grid exports and imports.

What if I export by day and import at night?

Both quantities enter the monthly balance. Exporting 500 kWh and importing 200 leaves 300 kWh eligible for the calculation.

Can I get this subsidy without exporting?

No. An off-grid system may reduce costs, but this subsidy requires a credited net surplus delivered to the grid.

Is this a newly launched programme?

No. It has operated since 1 April 2023. The news is the payment total for the first nine months of 2026.

Will any electronic meter do?

No. Bidirectional metering and a billing configuration accepted by the network company are required.

Where do I receive the money?

On a bank card, using the transfer function in the Soliq Solar Home service. Android and iPhone download links are below.

When should the subsidy be transferred?

Paragraph 15 of PP-57 specifies the 25th of the following month. If delayed, check Soliq and contact the Tax Committee; a calculation is not confirmation of receipt on your card.

Is UZS 642 billion the income of one installation?

No. It is the rounded combined subsidy total for participants in January–September 2026.

Does the calculator provide an exact payback date?

No. It gives a simple scenario based on your inputs. A purchase decision needs monthly generation and cost estimates and confirmed connection terms.
