PRIME GA-25 aluminium connecting sleeve

⚡ The PRIME GA-25 is a cable sleeve designed for permanent crimp connection of aluminium wires and cables.

It is intended for aluminium conductors with a nominal cross-section of 25 mm².

🔧 Applications

🔩 Crimp installation

The stripped conductors are inserted from opposite sides and compressed using a press and die suitable for 25 mm² aluminium conductors.

Do not crimp the sleeve using a hammer, ordinary pliers or an incorrectly sized die.

🪨 Electrical-grade aluminium

The sleeve is made of electrical-grade aluminium compatible with aluminium cable conductors.

A standard GA-25 sleeve must not be used for a direct aluminium-to-copper joint. A purpose-designed bimetallic sleeve is required.

⚡ Networks up to 10 kV

The product is intended for electrical networks with operating voltage up to 10 kV.

📏 Dimensions

• conductor cross-section — 25 mm²;
• inside diameter — approximately 7 mm;
• outside diameter — approximately 12 mm;
• standard length — approximately 63 mm.

The PRIME listing states a length of 71 mm. The actual supplied dimensions should therefore be checked before selecting the crimping die.

🌡️ Operating temperature

The stated operating-temperature range is −40 to +80 °C.

🛠️ Installation procedure

1. Fully disconnect the electrical circuit.
2. Verify that no voltage is present.
3. Select a sleeve, press and die suitable for 25 mm².
4. Remove the insulation without damaging conductor strands.
5. Clean the aluminium oxide layer.
6. Apply a suitable aluminium contact compound.
7. Insert both conductors approximately to the centre of the sleeve.
8. Crimp at the specified positions.
9. Check the mechanical strength of the connection.
10. Restore insulation with heat-shrink tubing or another approved material.
