MP100M5 Pressure gauge-1.6 MPa
MP100M5 pressure gauge with a 0–1.6 MPa measuring range
🔵 The MP100M5 is a general-purpose indicating pressure gauge for measuring gauge pressure in liquid and gaseous media. It is suitable for water-supply, heating, ventilation, compressed-air, pumping and industrial equipment.
The measuring range is 0 to 1.6 MPa, equivalent to 0 to 16 bar. Its large 100 mm dial makes the pressure easy to read from a distance.
The gauge is intended for non-crystallising media that do not attack the copper-alloy parts of the measuring mechanism.

🔍 Understanding 1.6 MPa
MPa means megapascal, a unit of pressure. A pressure of 1.6 MPa is approximately equal to 16 bar.
For example, 0.4 MPa is approximately 4 bar, while 1.0 MPa is 10 bar.
1.6 MPa is the upper scale limit, not the recommended continuous operating pressure of the system.
🏭 Applications
- cold- and hot-water systems;
- heating systems;
- pumping stations;
- compressor equipment;
- compressed-air lines;
- boiler equipment;
- heating substations;
- filters and pressure regulators;
- process pipelines;
- industrial and utility equipment.
⚙️ Operating principle
The process pressure acts on a sensing element inside the case. Its movement is transferred mechanically to the pointer on the dial. No electrical power or battery is required.
🔩 Lower radial connection
The process connection is located at the bottom of the case. This arrangement is convenient for mounting the gauge above a pipeline, valve, manifold, filter, regulator or other equipment.
Before installation, check the M20×1.5 thread, operating pressure, material compatibility, temperature, dial visibility and the level of vibration and pressure pulsation.
🛠️ Installation procedure
- Shut down the equipment and release all pressure.
- Check the gauge and process-connection threads.
- Install the appropriate gasket or specified seal.
- Tighten the gauge using a spanner on the connection flats.
- Do not turn the gauge by its case.
- Position the dial for convenient reading.
- Apply pressure gradually.
- Check the connection for leakage.
Do not tighten the gauge by rotating its case, as this may damage the internal mechanism or the joint between the case and process connection.
🛡️ Meaning of IP40
- protection against solid objects larger than 1 mm;
- no rated protection against water.
The gauge should be installed in a dry location or protected from rain, water spray and condensation.
⚠️ Application limitations
The standard MP100M5 should not be used with media that:
- attack copper alloys;
- crystallise or solidify rapidly;
- block the process connection;
- exceed the permitted temperature;
- produce severe pulsation or hydraulic shock without protection;
- require special oxygen, ammonia or corrosion-resistant construction.
📦 Package contents
- MP100M5 0–1.6 MPa pressure gauge;
- gaskets;
- passport.
Adapters, three-way gauge valves, siphon tubes and other installation components are purchased separately.
📌 Summary
The MP100M5 0–1.6 MPa is a practical pressure gauge for monitoring pressures up to 16 bar. Its 100 mm dial is easy to read, accuracy class 1.5 is suitable for general technical monitoring and the lower M20×1.5 connection provides standard radial installation.
