EX518 380 V, 5 A three-phase transformer-connected electricity meter with PLC module

⚡ The EX518 380 V, 5 A is a multifunction electronic meter designed for high-accuracy measurement of active and reactive energy in a three-phase four-wire network.

It is not connected directly to the load. Its current circuits are connected to the 5 A secondary outputs of external current transformers.

🔌 Transformer connection

The 5 A rating does not limit the installation load to five amperes. Actual primary current is determined by the current-transformer ratio.

📐 Current-transformer selection

Three matching current transformers are required, one for each phase.

Typical ratios include 100/5, 200/5, 400/5 and 800/5 A. The ratio must be entered into the meter or AMR-system configuration.

📡 PLC communication

The PLC module transmits readings over existing power wiring to a compatible data concentrator.

No SIM card is required inside the meter for PLC communication.

🌐 AMR operation

Remote reading requires a PLC concentrator, server software, meter registration and correct entry of the current-transformer ratio.

💾 Memory and archive

Stored data are retained for at least ten years during power failure.

⚠️ Important: this version must be connected through current transformers. It cannot replace the direct-connected EX518 U 100 A without redesigning the metering circuit.
