The error of meters with a mechanical measurement method is growing from year to year, without providing for the possibility of diagnosing increased inaccuracies in gas accounting, incorrect accounting is conducted, leading to more and more losses of the consumed volume of gas.
The ultrasonic meter measures the gas based on the passage time of ultrasonic pulses, the gas flow rate and calculates the operating volume flow from the data obtained. In this case, the effect is used, according to which ultrasonic pulses propagate faster in the direction of flow than in the opposite direction. Each sensor is both a transmitter and a receiver.
SARF meters use a revolutionary development of the world's leading company Panasonic – an ultrasonic measuring module. This module was invented and patented by Japanese physicists. A distinctive feature of the module is - conducting measurements by ultrasonic method at a frequency of 500 kilohertz with the highest accuracy allowing to achieve an accuracy class of 0.5.
SARF gas meters, when calibrated at 7 flow points, have errors of up to 1% at each flow point, a temperature sensor is built into the meter's measuring channel. With temperature changes, the volume of gas can be increased or decreased. Based on the data received from the temperature sensor, the meter makes calculations, bringing the measured volume to standard conditions at a temperature of +20 degrees Celsius, which is an important factor when measuring the actual volume of gas consumed and not the volume changed depending on the temperature.
